Hans van Hartskamp runs a house painting company in the Netherlands. He is deaf, and so are the people who work for him. On his website and in the media he uses 'deafness' as a unique selling point:
1. We are a QUIET company! Our painters do NOT have the radio on, while they work! We use sign language for communication.
2. CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is our motto. At our company, we employ deaf and hard of hearing people as professional painters.
Recently Hans started a project - working together with the regional Social Services - to train unemployed deaf people to become professional painters: Deaf Brushes.
